ICSS honors and remembers the work of (the late) Ricky
Sherover-Marcuse, a close and dear friend to members of the
institute. We hold Ricky up as a shining example of leadership, courage
and brilliance in the fight against racism and social injustice, and
we refer you to her writings on http://www.unlearningracism.org/
Whether you are a new or seasoned student of critical
theory, class analysis, dialectics, socialism or marxism, we highly
recommend the writings of Prof. Bertell Olman at his website
http://www.nyu.edu/projects/ollman/, for their accessibility, clarity, depth and humor.
The Institute gives classes within and has access to the holdings of the
Niebyl-Proctor Library,
www.marxistlibr.org, a major
library resource on the west coast for critical research and study,
with over 15,000 volumes and 20,000 rare pamphlets on history,
economics, politics, art, aesthetics, progressive, Marxist and
socialist literature.
